Novalja is the tourist center of the island. It is developed in the gentle gulf of the northwestern part of the Island. Its beautiful sand and pebble beaches which surround it give Novalja a special attraction. Very rich selection of diverse dishes, ranging from simple to the ones selected are at the guests disposal in its many restaurants, taverns and bistros. Terraces of different bars create a special summer atmosphere, and the beaches offer a rich content for recreation and sports programs. There are modern outdoor discos by the beach for younger visitors. You have to visit the Roman aqueduct in Novalja, where the temperature in the midst of the greatest summer heat lingers on chilly fifteen degrees. You can visit Stomorica - a large collection of early Christian antiquities, and the Basilica Urbana with faithfully preserved mosaics. There is a Cissa there (today Caska), the remains of a large military camp built by the Roman army. Accommodation can be found in numerous rooms and apartments at various locations.
