Petrcane is a village and harbour on the coast of the cove bearing the same name, 13 km northwest from Zadar, between Zadar and Nin. The economy is based on farming, fishing and tourism. The harbour is well protected; smaller yachts may dock in it.

Petrcane has a fine concrete and pebble beaches in the dense pine woods. There are also some modern hotels with sports-grounds, and a swimming pool nearby. If you wish an active vacation Petrcane offers you various sports and recreation facilities By its geographical position it is suitable for visiting the islands of the Zadar Archipelago and The Kornati National Park.

In the Middle Ages, Petrcane was one of the estates of the Zadar monasteries of St. Krsevan and Plato. Southeast of the village is placed the Romanesque Church of St. Bartholomew whose massive bell tower was long ago turned into a dwelling house, so-called Kulina which is very well preserved.
