Tribunj is a town and harbour on a small peninsula, situated on the local branching road leading from the main road, 4 km west of Vodice. Chief occupations include farming, fishing and tourism. The Rupa cove as well as in several other smaller inlets west of the town offer nice beaches, with the Sovlja beach being the most beautiful among them. Smaller yachts can anchor in the port; the anchoring ground for larger vessels is to the southeast of the town.

The original settlement developed on the island in the 16th century. It was established by the refugees from the neighbouring settlements from the mainland who sought refuge here from the Turks. There are some remains of the old defence wall dating from the period of Venetian rule preserved. In the former settlement of Jurjevgrad nearby, the ruins of mediaeval fortifications and the church of St. Nicholas from 1452., have survived. Another mediaeval church is to the east of the town.

Since Tribunj has the most fishing boats in central Dalmatia, its waterfront, upon the return of fishermen, resembles a large market place where you can buy recently caught fish and other seafood. Sports enthusiasts have a wide range of sporting activities at their disposal: tennis, boccia, 5-a-side soccer, basketball, diving courses, sailing and underwater safari. Several traditional festivals, local festivities and entertainment events take place in the summer in Tribunj. The original scenery of an old Dalmatian town, the clean sea - according to records, probably the cleanest sea on the Adriatic, the rich sea flora and fauna make the sea of Tribunj suitable for swimming and underwater safari.
