Okrug Gornji - Tourist guide

Okrug Gornji is located on the western part of the Ciovo, a central Dalmatian island, very close to the city of Trogir with which is connected by a drawbridge. Inhabited since prehistoric times, the island is home to a rich cultural heritage. The vicinity of the city of Trogir, only 2 km, which is the city under the protection of UNESCO offers the possibility to trace the joy of the remotest history 2800 old, but also the possibility of the night entertainment. Mild mediterranean climate, rich subtropical vegetation, the archipelag with picturesque islands, and its beaches which are encompassed by crystal clear sea, make it an attractive destination for many tourists.

Okrug Gornji is known for its numerous bays and beautiful beaches, very popular with families looking for peace and quiet and children of course due to their shallow waters. On the other hand, there are also so many nice cafes on these beaches which offer you a refreshment and modern music. That’s why this place is also very popular with young people, while the town of Trogir nearby offers plenty of interesting culturtal events or the night entertainment for those looking for active vacations. In Trogir there are many sport’s fields while for the water sports you can rent all the necessary equipment directly on the beaches of Ciovo. Its geografic position also permits trips to Krka waterfalls, the city of Split...and many others while the airport is only 8 km away.
