Zivogosce is a village and harbour on the Makarska Riviera, situated on the slopes of Biokovo mountain, 14 km southeast of Makarska and 75 km away from Split. Zivogosce is composed from three smaller villages, distant from each other; Porat, Mala Duba, Blato.

There are several beautiful pebble beaches in Zivogosce surrounded by a pine forest. High quality lodgings - hotels, apartments, as well as sports grounds, water sports, pleasant walks along the sea (lungomare) make Zivogosce a lovely place to stay.

Famous epigram by Licijan dedicated to a local water spring, carved in live rock near the sea, has remained undamaged since Roman times. Zivogosce was first mentioned under its present name in 1434. The Franciscan monastery in Zivogosce was founded in 1616, and for the centuries was the centre of the spiritual life and literacy of the area, with rich library and artistic works of value. Below the Franciscan monastery is a large freshwater spring, which remains on a dry terrain during the low tide.
